Optimizing the Content is one of the important WordPress post checklists you need to focus on. Write a long-form content if possible.

The minimum content length is 300 words as required by Google to rank in SERP. Professional Bloggers usually write long-form content with minimum 1500-2000 words.

More the content higher the possibility of ranking will be but the thing is that ranking doesn’t depend only on one factor.

Optimizing the content is not only about content length rather it should be optimized with focus keyword and injecting-related keywords wisely.

6. Use of Heading Tags

Using Heading Tags is must when you are writing well-optimized articles. There are 6 types of Heading Tags H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6. Commonly, H1 is used in the main title of the articles and H2, H3, etc. are used in sub-heading while writing content. Don’t overuse Heading tags in your articles.

It is another point that you should not bypass in WordPress Post Checklist. Meta Description is the snippet of your whole post: it is the summary of the entire post and you should optimize it for Search Engine Result Pages.

For Google, you should not cross the length of 160 characters. The ideal meta description should be around 150-155 characters.

10. Featured Image and Dimension

Every blogger use Featured Image in their post as it reflects the whole blog post.  Some WordPress Themes takes your first image as a featured image while most of them don’t. So, it is necessary to use an image but with the right dimension.

The minimum width × height should be of600px × 400px. In this post, I have used around 720px × 450px. This image is used while sharing your post to different platforms/ Social Media like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, etc

11. Categories and Tags

Category reflects the whole content. First of all, before writing content you need to create right categories. Bloggers who are beginner often create useless categories.

We use category name on our menu with parents and child relationship i.e Menu > Sub-Menu with the drop-down box. Tags too are the vital part of blogging if you can use it wisely.

Bloggers usually don’t know how to use tags. Professional Blogger uses tags for internal linking. Don’t use unnecessary categories and tags as it will be useless if you cannot figure it out properly.
