Meta Title Tag

Meta Title is a title that appears in Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). Normally, your main title is a meta title but you can override using Meta Title Tag available in Slim SEO meta box just below your post or page.

Always write meta title less than equal to 60 characters, otherwise, Google normally truncates title after 60 characters.

Meta Description Tag

Nowadays, Google automatically chooses the relevant meta description from the article itself but using the Meta Description tag, you can override description.

Always write meta description less than equal to 160 characters.

Meta Robots Tag

By Default, Slim SEO exclude following from search results:

404 page, Search results pages, Private singular posts/pages, Empty page/post, Empty categories/tags, RSS Feed.

Moreover, you can manually disable your written post or page from the meta box available in each post/page.

Facebook Open Graph Tags

Open Graph also known as OG tags helps to show featured images, meta title sharing articles on Facebook.

Twitter Card Tags

It helps to show your blog posts images, title while sharing to Twitter.

Auto Redirection

Auto Redirection features help to redirect the attachment page to the attachment file URL and if the website has only one Author then it automatically redirects the author page to the homepage if needed.

RSS Feed

Image Alt Text

Alt text aka Alternative Text is one of the SEO factors. If you miss to insert alt text in the images then Slim SEO automatically insert alt text from attachment title.

XML Sitemap

Slim SEO automatically generates an XML sitemap of your website. Since WordPress 5.5 version, by default, it generates XML sitemap.

Here Slim SEO disables core WordPress sitemap and uses the plugin sitemap functionality to avoid conflict.

Disable Features:

One of the important parts in Slim SEO is Disable Features. You can disable any features that you don’t want to use from the plugin. Such as Auto Redirection, Schema, header/footer code, etc.

Conclusion

The plugin is not old in the market as compared to Yoast but it is powerful that automates your SEO works.

Slim SEO supports an open graph protocol but doesn’t have any dedicated placement to insert Facebook App ID. I would like to have the dedicated box but you can use the header/footer meta box to place the code.

Moreover, you can use the header code meta box to insert Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and various other scripts. This feature helps to avoid the plugin like Insert Headers and Footers.
